Tapestry Summer Workshop 16th-18th June 2017

The Tapestry Project 1
This 3 day intensive workshop will take you from your design inspiration to developing a small woven tapestry.

Working on a simple frame loom we will explore a range of tapestry techniques and materials. Taking inspiration from your own collection of images or objects, you will be encouraged to experiment with a range of tapestry techniques to explore your ideas: from mark making in weave, to colour mixing, surface texture and warp settings.
We will finish by looking at how to finish and present your tapestry

Level: The course is suitable for all levels

About your tutor
Fiona Hutchison graduated from the tapestry department, Edinburgh College of Art in 1985. She exhibits regularly in the UK, Europe and internationally. As well as teaching many independent workshops and mentoring emerging artists she also teaches tapestry weaving and stitched textiles for department of Life Long Learning at Edinburgh University (Edinburgh College of Art).
