Call for Proposals

Deadline: 30 June 2017 at 17:00

Luminate, Scotland's creative ageing festival, offers a chance to celebrate creativity, share stories, and to explore what ageing means to all of us, providing a national platform for local creative activities by, with and for older people in Scotland. Companies, organisations and individuals are invited to put an event forward to become a part of it.

Luminate showcases projects and events run by communities and arts organisations throughout the country, including theatre, dance, music, visual arts and community projects offering a chance to celebrate creativity, share stories, and to explore what ageing means to all of us.

Luminate includes an independently run programme led by artists, cultural organisations and community groups, and the festival is now inviting submissions for this programme during Luminate 2017. Events could range from creative projects bringing younger and older people together, to activities in care homes, exhibitions and theatre productions for audiences of all ages, to workshops aimed at older people.

If your event is included you will appear on the Luminate website and in the press and media campaign. You will also have the chance to attend some special events where you will meet other event organisers, and hear about projects taking place elsewhere in the country.

For your event to be included in both the Luminate 2017 printed programme and on our website, you must submit your proposal no later than 5pm on Friday 30 June. Proposals submitted after this time will be eligible for inclusion on our website only, and the deadline for submission of events to be included online is 5pm on Friday 4 August.

It is simple to apply: visit and fill in the online form. Guidance notes are also available online and you can request hard copies of this information by phone on 0131 668 8066.
