Information Assistant

The Fruitmarket Gallery

Deadline: 02 June 2017 at 09:00

Information Assistants work as part of a team to ensure the safety of art in the building and to ensure that each visitor’s experience of the Gallery and the exhibition on show is the best it could be. Information Assistants form part of the Gallery’s layered approach to interpretation, offering information to visitors at the level they require, giving them the tools to enable them to access art at the level that is appropriate for them.  Information Assistants carry out regular cover in the Bookshop, serving customers and acting as the first point of contact with the Gallery for the public. Information Assistants also work supporting the delivery of events at the Gallery, including set-up and take-down of temporary chairs and equipment. Involving direct contact with the public, the role is demanding, and a friendly, confident and appropriate manner is vital.
