Alternative Fringe Venue

Volcano Theatre Company

Deadline: 19 May 2017 at 17:00

Volcano has established a partnership with Biscuit Factory/YouthJuice - an Edinburgh-based creative agency specialising in property revitalisation. We will be working with them to transform a currently disused building into a distinctive new off-piste Fringe venue, presenting high-quality Welsh productions alongside other UK and/or international work. Volcano will be presenting Seagulls - our version of Chekhov's The Seagull incorporating a real lake. The programme also includes innovative work by Cryptic and Impermanence Dance Theatre, and family shows such as Flying Atoms. The venue is a large disused church and its grounds close to the foot of Leith Walk. We have performance slots remaining in Week 1 and Week 2, and can also consider events, exhibitions, outdoor work etc.

Please get in touch if you are intending to present work at the Fringe and you like the sound of doing it a bit differently, with partners who have an authentic interest in developing the capacity of the Fringe to accommodate innovative work.

We can offer an innovative and affordable performance/event opportunity in one of the toughest competitive markets, along with generous turnaround times, storage, practical and technical support and collaborative marketing.

Location: Edinburgh City
