Experimental Printmaking Course

Deadline: 07 May 2017 at 16:00

This is a great course for anyone willing to explore printmaking, challenge their colour composition and drawing skills.

The course covers a variety of low tech printmaking techniques and participants will experiment with different images taken locally or from memory.

The course covers the following printing techniques:

Gelli printing : favoured by crafters the world over this printing is accessible to all and means you can use different colours on the same plate. Participants will also explore the possibilities of collage and chine colle’, using different type of paper and inks.

Viscosity technique : Participants will print in colour by using a single plate, layering ink on the surface with a set of rollers.

Monotype: similarly to painting this technique allows only one copy to be obtained. Participants will experiment with mark-making using different brushes, inks and stencils.

The course is suitable for beginners; and materials are provided.
