Scottish Ballet is Scotland’s national dance company, established in 1969 by Peter Darrell. The award-winning Company has built its reputation on strong commissioning and ambitious touring, and regularly presents at premier theatres and events such as Sadler’s Wells and Edinburgh International Festival as well as leading venues and festivals abroad including Europe, Asia and North America.
Scottish Ballet has a busy marketing team in which the Marketing Officer is accountable for all day to day marketing activities, including: creating and executing engaging marketing campaigns (offline, press, radio, TV, online advertising), audience segmentation & analysis, liaising with theatres and copywriting for direct mail, brochures & box office briefs. Whilst the role is based in Glasgow, there will be a requirement to undertake some travel while the company is touring. All activities have the ultimate aim of inspiring new audiences and meeting the Company’s sales objectives.
Candidates for the Marketing Officer position must have proven work experience in a marketing capacity. They will be meticulous, be able to manage and prioritise large workloads, be able to deliver exceptional work within budget and to deadlines, be IT literate with CRM database experience and they will be excellent communicators able to work both independently and as part of a team. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a genuine passion for the arts and any work experience directly in the industry would be preferable.
