Engage Scotland/National Galleries Scotland

The legendary Hywel Roberts, creative educator, Mantle of the Expert trainer and author of Oops! Getting Children to Learn Accidentally is returning to National Galleries Scotland to deliver another action packed professional learning session. Teachers, gallery educators and creative learning enthusiasts are invited to join Hywel to hear about his creative pedagogy*.
With reference to recent projects that engage young people in exploring the curriculum through art, Hywel will outline his approaches to creative curriculum delivery, including PPP, mantle of the expert and authentic fakes.
Tea / coffee available from 2.00-2.30pm.
Presentation 2.30-3.30pm.
*Please note there are also a limited number of places available for a participatory session in the gallery with Hywel 1.00-2.00pm – to book this as well please contact lconacher@nationalgalleries.org. Using two landscape paintings, Constable's Salisbury Cathedral from the Meadows and McTaggart's The Storm, Hywel will demonstrate his approaches in the gallery.
Organised in partnership with engage Scotland with support from the National Lottery through Creative Scotland and the Heritage Lottery Fund Aspire Project.
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
