STENCILLING WITH MACKINTOSH
The Lansdowne House of Stencils
Deadline: 15 June 2017 at 21:15
Back by popular demand for 2017 as part of Glasgow West end Festival - a full day stencilling workshop led by Glasgow artist Elisabeth Culshaw from The Lansdowne House of Stencils. Use Mackintosh's stencils to tackle different paints and backgrounds. Your stencil is yours to keep.
Workshop is run in the beautiful church hall designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh for Queens Cross Church Glasgow.
After welcoming coffee you will learn to tackle any stencils with different kind of paint on a selection of background. After a lunch break you will learn to isolate elements to design your own stencil. With guidance you will cut it and stencil it on a cushion cover. Both your stencil and cushion cover will be yours to take home.
Elisabeth Culshaw, best known for creating the stencilled scheme for Glasgow "The House for an Art Lover" has been stencilling Mackintosh for over 25 years. She is back in Queens Cross church for the second year during the West end Festival to share her skills and her enthusiasm for stencilling.
This course is for any level (adults only), Elisabeth will take advantage of the day to advise participants on their individual projects.
Teas, coffee and materials provided. Lunch not provided.
Location: Glasgow City
